What conditions can chiropractic care help with?
Chiropractic treatment is effective for a variety of issues, including lower back pain, neck pain, migraines, neck-related headaches, joint stiffness, and leg or arm pain. It focuses on restoring function to the spine and joints to improve the health of your nervous system.
Is chiropractic treatment safe?
Yes. In the UK, all chiropractors must be registered with the General Chiropractic Council (GCC). This requires 4-5 years of accredited study and ongoing professional development. Our practitioners perform thorough examinations to ensure treatment is appropriate for you.
What is the "popping" sound during an adjustment?
The sound is simply a release of gas from the joint as it moves—much like “popping” your knuckles. It is not the sound of bones cracking.
How many treatments will I need?
This varies for everyone. Some patients seek “Relief Care” for quick pain reduction, while many choose ongoing “Wellness Care” to prevent future issues. Your chiropractor will provide a recommended treatment plan after your initial assessment, but the decision is always yours.
Your Visit
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first appointment usually lasts 45 minutes. It includes a full consultation, an in-depth health history, and a physical examination (postural, orthopaedic, and neurological tests). Your chiropractor will explain their findings and discuss a treatment plan before any work begins.
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothing. For some examinations, you may be asked to undress to your underwear, but a medical gown will always be provided for your comfort.
Will I need X-rays?
If X-rays are required for an accurate diagnosis, we will refer you to a local X-ray service. The results will be reviewed by a Radiologist and your chiropractor before being discussed with you during a “Report of Findings” visit.
Can I claim on my private health insurance?
Most health insurance providers cover chiropractic care. We recommend checking with your provider first to see if you need a GP referral for your specific policy. Usually, you pay for the treatment upfront and use our receipt to claim reimbursement.
